This page explains the transactional emails ScopeToBuild sends, which ones you can turn off, and where to manage them.
What we send
ScopeToBuild sends transactional email tied to your account and the work you or your team does in it — things like status changes on a project, a new message on a thread, an invitation to join a company, or a signature request. Each of these belongs to a category, and every category can be reviewed individually.
What is always on
A small set of categories cannot be turned off. What decides whether a category is one of them is not a fixed list but a handful of overlapping reasons: turning it off could lock you out of your own account; it could stop you from completing something the product requires of you; it could be the only way you would ever find out that something needing your response happened — an invitation is the clearest example, since turning that off would mean never learning you were invited at all; or it could be a direct reply to something you yourself asked us about, where staying silent would be worse than answering. Which categories that covers can change as ScopeToBuild does, so this page does not name them — the current list, and which of those categories are mandatory versus optional right now, is always visible where you actually manage them (see below). A mandatory category is shown there and marked as always on, never hidden, so it is clear it exists and why.
Where to manage them
Everything else is yours to turn on or off. Sign in and go to Profile → Email Preferences (/profile/email-preferences) to review every category and switch off the ones you do not want. Because this involves your own account's settings, that screen requires you to be signed in — this page is only the explanation.
